This is the favorite material variant of the Hopewell. More relics from Flint Ridge Chalcendony than any other material variant. This piece also had a long service life. The base tells this story. Probably 3x bigger when it was made. Price: $SOLD> THANK YOU> |

I have heard this type of Flint Ridge called Strawberry jam b/c of the red and the pock marks that look like seeds. Waxy and high grade. Covered with minerals. Rare to see kirks made from Ridge. Huge Carter Cave Drill - #7-7 Size: 4 1/2" L x 11/16" W. Provenance: Collection found along the Ohio River many moons ago by Winifred Rhoades of Freedom, Pennsylvania. This is Beaver County, PA and Columbiana County on the Ohio side. Condition: Excellent. Have you ever seen a Carter Cave drill of this length? I haven't either. Tip isn't quite perfect, but the length more than makes up for it. In terms of type, I have no idea what it started as. I am sure it is Archaic as you can easily see by the flaking in the top photo. Price: $SOLD> THANK YOU> |

Beautiful Flint Ridge Archaic Dart - #7-8 Size: 1 11/16" L x 1" W. Provenance: Collection found along the Ohio River many moons ago by Winifred Rhoades of Freedom, Pennsylvania. This is Beaver County, PA and Columbiana County on the Ohio side. Condition: Excellent. There is some base and tip damage, but it doesn't me. This material is gem grade. Couldn't be nicer if it tried. Finely worked. Price: $SOLD> THANK YOU> |

Benton - #7-9 Size: 5" L x 1 3/8" W. Provenance: Illinois. Condition: Excellent. Huge point with color up to 11 for Illinois. I think this is a creek patina over Burlington. I'm not even 100% on the typology, but sure it is Archaic (Mid). The flaking patterns are extremely well done, but you need it in hand to gain the perspective to admire the work. As you can see in the bottom picture, there was a long impact fracture to the side from the tip down. The piece was used long after this malady, and the owner worked it beautifully into the design of the piece. You don't even see it when look straight down on the piece. Price: $100 |

Ohio Sidenotch / Big Sandy - #7-10 Size: 2 1/2" L x 1 7/16" W. Provenance: Collection found along the Ohio River many moons ago by Winifred Rhoades of Freedom, Pennsylvania. This is Beaver County, PA and Columbiana County on the Ohio side. Condition: Good. They can't all be perfect. This type of side notch is just enough different from Big Sandy that it is uniquely Ohio. Similar point used for the symbol of the Ohio Arch Society. I really like the subtle two toned flint. Price: $25 |
